Karkov

Karkov is on the edge of the Pegasus Galaxy and the nearest planet in that galaxy to the Beta site.

Prior to the Reptilian Karkovian's enslavement by the humans of their planet, Karkov was a healthy green planet. Now, it has the look of a slightly more habitable desert. The surface temperature can fluctuate by at least 60 degrees on any given day. The terrain was very harsh with primordial jungles, teeming with animal life, but now the green space only exists in small areas peppered throughout the planet. Craggy mountains and deep chasms cover large parts of the planet. One of the most revered locations by the Reptilians is the D'Ghor mountain range which became the final resting place of their greatest spiritual leader, of whom the range is named for, prior to their enslavement.

However, the Karkovian homeworld now is polluted, has a thin atmosphere and low humidity. Most of the land is a desolate amber hue, as the 100 year war destroyed the environment. Of course, it didn't help that the Wraith weapons had somehow poisioned the soil and caused massive climatic upheavals due to countless years of cullings. The current state of the planet's already depleted biosphere after the bombardment is grim, with Karkov's few remaining large species such as the Va'al becoming extinct. Only heavy terra-forming can return the planet to its former condition of lush forestland.
